Ray Hudson
An English midfielder, Ray “Rocky” Hudson began his career at Newcastle United, where in five seasons in the First Division, he made only 25 appearances and 1 goal. In 1977 he moved to the United States to play for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL). He soon became a key player and in seven seasons he made 176 appearances and 42 goals. In 1980 he reached the Soccer Bowl, lost to the New York Cosmos 3-0. Remembered as one of the best players in Strikers history, he was inducted 4 times in the All-Stars (3 times as Honorable Mention and once as Second Team). In 1984 the Strikers moved to Minnesota and Hudson was again inducted into the All-Stars (First Team).
