A product of Arsenal academy, David Price was considered as a prodigious young midfielder who captained England schoolboys. He made his league debut at the age of 17 in 1973. However, he played mostly with the reserves for the next few years. After a loan spell at Peterborough United, he broke into the first team in 1977/78, playing 51 matches that season. Price played three FA Cup finals winning the trophy in 1979. He also played in the 1980 Cup Winners’ Cup final lost against Valencia on penalties. In all he collected 176 games for Arsenal, scoring 19 goals. He was sold to Crystal Palace in March 1981 but he was hampered by injuries and after a brief spell at Leyton Orient in the 1982/83 season, he ended his career at the age of 28.
