Trevor Hockey

After starting out as right winger, Trevor Hockey became noted as a competitive midfielder. Easily recognizable with his full beard, he became one of the great figures of 1970s English football. Birmingham player of the year in 1969 and Shefffield United Player of the Year in 1972, he won two promotions from the Second Division, in 1965 with Newcastle United and 1971 with Sheffield United.

Arthur Graham

Arthur Graham has been a classy, quick left winger who played for Aberdeen, Leeds United, Manchester United, Bradford City and the Scottish national team during 1970s and 1980s. With Aberdeen he won a Scottish Cup in 1970 beating Celtic 3-1 (Graham, who was 17, made two assists) and the Scottish League Cup in 1977 (in his last season in Scotland) beating Celtic again in the final. With the Dons he played a total of 298 games, scoring 45 goals. He joined Leeds United at the start of the 1977/78 season. He scored a total of 47 goals in 260 appearances in six seasons, including a hat-trick against Birmingham City on January 14, 1978. In August 1983, with Leeds in the Second Division, Graham was sold to Manchester United. He stayed at Old Trafford for two seasons, scoring seven goals in 52 appearances in all competitions, before ending his career at Bradford City in 1987. With the Scottish national team he made 11 appearances, scoring 2 goals from 1978 to 1981, while playing for Leeds United.

Trevor Cherry

A stylish and versatile defender, Trevor Cherry was outstanding in any position across the back four. He started his career at Huddersfield before he made his name at Leeds United during the 1970s, making 486 appearances and winning the league title in 1974.

The following season, he helped Leeds in their European Cup campaign. In the semi-finals Cherry marked Dutch legend Johan Cruyff and Leeds beat Barcelona but after missing subsequent League matches through suspension, he was placed on the bench for the final, lost against Bayern Munich.

In 1976, Cherry became Leeds captain, continuing to play for club until 1982. He won the club’s Player of The Season award in 1981, then in 2000 was voted the 30th best Leeds United player by its fans.

In his last three seasons, he was the player-manager of Bradford City, where won the Third Division title in 1985.

He won a total of 27 international caps and captained the England team on one occasion.

Mike Duxbury

Mike Duxbury was a complete and versatile full-back who played for Manchester United almost 400 times over 14 years (he played more times for the club than any other player during the 1980s).
